- Runs in your browser. Your Google and Zoom sessions never leave your computer.
- No audio is kept. Speech is transcribed and the audio is deleted right away.
- Transcripts on your device. Saved as a text file in your Downloads and listed in the extension's history.
- Your mic, your call. Your own voice is captured only while your microphone is on in the meeting.
- No commitments on your behalf. Alternate never agrees to deadlines or decisions for you — it pings you instead.

Does a bot join my meetings?
No. Alternate is a browser extension: it joins from your own browser under your own account, so no extra participant appears in the call.
Does my computer need to stay on?
Yes. Alternate works on your computer, keeps it awake during meetings and checks the power and connection before each one. If the laptop is closed or the battery dies, it warns you in Telegram.
Which browsers are supported?
Google Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers, such as Microsoft Edge and Yandex Browser, on Windows and macOS.
Does it work with the Zoom desktop app?
Not yet. Alternate works with Zoom in the browser. Some hosts disable browser access — the pre-flight check tells you in advance.
Will Alternate speak for me?
Only if you turn it on, and only with short phrases you recorded yourself — a greeting or a holding reply. It never makes promises or decisions on your behalf.
